For the past few weeks the staff at Parkland Fellowship have been looking at a book called, Breaking the Missional Code: Your Church can become a Missionary in your community, by Ed Stetzer and David Putman. It’s a great book that discusses how we need to be missionaries in our community. It sounds pretty simple. The main thing is that we need to reach people where we live, work, and play.
There will be a chapter overview and discussion each week. Here is a video that explains what being missional means. Enjoy.

I like this video in that it clearly explains PART of what it means to be a missional church. It does a great job showing that every person in the church is to see themselves as a missionary going out and being Christ wherever they are.
It does a poor job of completing the picture of seeing people get connected to a church where they begin to grow in their relationship with Christ, get connected with other believers in community and become equipped to go out as a missionary. If in our missional mindset we do not included people gathering as a church and seeing new believers being connected into a local body of Christ we will have spiritual orphans on our hands, and that is very unmissioinal.
I am interested in hearing what others think.
Blessings,
Brian Stewart
